INVITATION TO ATTEND 34th NATIONAL FGBMFI CONVENTION You are invited and encouraged to attend the 2010 FGBMFI National Convention in Geelong. By attending the 2010 Convention you will be supporting the work of the Fellowship and meet up with other FGBMFI members from all parts of the nation. It will also be a time to refresh the vision and passion for outreach and ministry at both an individual and chapter level. Personally I have found that attending a National Convention comes at a cost (financial, time away from work and family, travel considerations, etc). Is it worth the effort to attend a Convention? My answer to this question is YES. I have found that at each of the eight National Conventions which I have had the privilege to attend I have experienced both the touch and empowerment of the Lord Jesus Christ and have enjoyed the fellowship with other Christians. Why hold it again in Geelong? Venues in other cities were looked at but they could not come close to matching the quality, value and cost of food, accommodation and venue which is provided at the Geelong Conference Centre. The Geelong Chapter also has the necessary FGBMFI infrastructure and organizational team willing to host a National convention. - Charles Rockefeller FGBMFI National Secretary
NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER FOR FGBMFI 10 FEBRUARY 2010I would like to encourage all members to join together in prayer on Wednesday 10th February 2010. Where possible it would be good for Chapters and / or members to come together to wait on the Lord and pray for the ongoing work of FGBMFI. For those members who are not able to gather together at some stage during the day could you please utter a prayer as many times as possible so you will be part of this agreement in prayer with our brothers across this Nation. “Father, I pray you will guide us by the Holy Spirit and give us the direction that we need, to have the ability to go forward in your name and to claim the incredible victory that you have already won for us on the cross of Calvary. Thank you Lord Jesus that you prayed for us and asked the Father to make us one as You and the Father are one so the world will know that He sent You. Amen.” The words of a song come to mind, “God’s got an army marching thro’ the land, Deliverance is their song with healing in their hand. An everlasting joy with gladness in their heart, And in this army I’ve got a part.” Thank God that He has called you to be to be part of this great army.
Thank God that “Greater is He who is within you than he that is in the world.” Let us go forward in His name to help to fulfill the destiny of this Nation to become the Great Southland of the Holy Spirit. God bless you. The International Prayer Breakfast movement was established in 1953 by USA President Dwight D. Eisenhower. The USA National Prayer Breakfast has become a major event attracting 5000 political representatives, church and community leaders from the USA and abroad to the annual Breakfast in Washington D.C. The original organisers had a vision that the Prayer Breakfast movement would be spread worldwide. In Australia a bi – partisan National Prayer Breakfast has been held annually in November, at Parliament House Canberra for over 20 years. Many other cities around Australia host annual Mayoral or Parliamentary Prayer Breakfasts. In September 2009, there will be three Prayer Breakfasts in our region, the 4th Annual Greater Shepparton Mayoral Prayer Breakfast and two Parliamentary Prayer Breakfasts held in Barham and Echuca.. The Guest speaker at each event will be retired chief inspector Gary Raymond APM, OAM. Gary has been involved in the rescue and investigation of many mayor incidents and crimes over the past 30 years. Gary is a passionate story teller and has a message of Christian hope in the face of life’s pressure, pain and tragedy. At the three Prayer Breakfasts, there will be prayers for the Mayor and the council, Members of Parliament, the Nation of Australia, for the people and families of the area and for the economy, environment and community.
